A major new project entitled 'Early English Laws' has started at the
Institute of Historical Research (IHR), University of London. The project
aims to edit or re-edit, translate, introduce and comment on all 142 early
legal codes, edicts, manuals and treatises composed in England before the
issuing of Magna Carta in 1215, and to make these materials available
