Subject: an apology on behalf of the software

Today the number of bounced messages due to e-mail addresses
that are no longer vaid reached 25,002. It has taken a while for this
number of failed sendings to accumulate. The number will give
you some sense of the flood in which a fresh posting may get lost in
spite of my best attempts--and I do in fact try, looking through the
daily bounces before sending the lot off to oblivion.

My point: if you send a posting that does not appear within a very few
days, kindly let me know and immediately resend.

All best,
WM
