Lecturer (Below the Bar) in Digital Humanities x2, Department of Digital
Humanities, School of English
10-year Fixed Term Whole Time Post (duration to 31st May 2036)
UCC wishes to appoint to the role of Lecturer in Digital Humanities. Reporting
to the Head of the Department of Digital Humanities to teach in UCC and in the
Communications University of China (CUC) Beijing on the Joint BA Programme,
Digital Culture and Society and on our MA programmes, with a view to supervision
at PhD level.
We seek to appoint two lecturers in Digital Humanities; including Digital
Cultures, Digital Society, Digital Stylometry, Data Visualisation, Network
Analysis, Digital/Media Arts, and other areas which require knowledge of and the
ability to teach programming languages such as JavaScript, R, or Python.
Duties will include research, research-led teaching and administration within
the School of English and Digital Humanities with a specific focus on teaching a
generalist undergraduate programme of Digital Humanities. Appointees will be
required to spend several months each year in China.

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer (Below the Bar) Salary Scale: €42,102 -
€72,452 (Scale B) / €44,169 - €68,942 (Scale A).
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay
policy.
