Subject: event cfp: Research and Educational Advances in Culture and Technology Conference - REACT 2025, Vienna, October 20-21
Dear colleagues!
We are pleased to announce the call for proposals for REACT 2025 –
Research & Education Advancements in Culture & Technology,
<https://culttech.at/react> taking place on 20–21 October 2025 in Vienna,
Austria.
REACT 2025 is a new annual conference exploring the intersection of culture
and technology—an emerging field where artistic practice, innovation,
education, and public policy converge. Held just before the Culttech Summit
2025 <https://www.culttechsummit.com/> in Vienna, REACT 2025 invites
scholars, educators, technologists, cultural practitioners, and
policymakers to share insights, frameworks, and provocations for
understanding and shaping this transformation.
Hosted at the historic Wiener Postsparkasse — a modern architectural
masterpiece designed by Otto Wagner in 1906 — REACT 2025 will convene a
diverse community of thinkers and practitioners. Through visionary dialogue
and critical reflection, participants will examine the wide-ranging shifts
driven by the interplay of cultural and technological forces.
We invite proposals for panels, roundtables, and poster presentations that
engage topics including (but not limited to):
- Generative AI and artistic authorship
- Ethics and epistemologies of digital culture
- Education and interdisciplinarity in the creative-tech space
- Emerging cultural economies and sustainable innovation
- Policy frameworks for cultural technology
- Immersive media, perception, and cognition
- Cultural values in the design of technological systems
REACT 2025 is organized by the CultTech Association in partnership with:
- University of Applied Arts Vienna, Digital Arts Department
- Belmont University (Nashville, TN, USA)
- Constructor University (Bremen, Germany)
- Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage
- TAH Centre for Innovations in Technology, Art, and Humanities (Prague,
Czech Republic)
Combo tickets allow participants to attend both REACT and the CultTech
Summit.
